About This Course

This training is an introduction to the signs, symptoms, and treatment of eating disorders. We will be discussing diagnostic criteria for eating disorders including what signs and symptoms to look for. Screening and treatment modalities and processes will be discussed.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe what eating disorders are and who is at risk.
  2. Describe how negative body image is linked to disordered eating and cross addiction and identify red flags in clients. 
  3. Demonstrate how to use appropriate treatment modalities for eating disorders, negative body image and cross addiction.

Crystal Lunenschloss, MS, RDN, LDN, CEDRD

Crystal’s background is in residential and outpatient treatment. She has worked with clients who struggle with substance and behavioral addictions, complex mental health disorders, eating/exercise disorders, sports nutrition, and poor body image. She is a public speaker and has been an adjunct professor at Lipscomb University for the past 8 years. Crystal also created and manages the nutrition programs for BrightQuest Behavioral Health and The Ranch treatment centers. She uses a behavioral and evidenced-based approach to nutrition counseling for long-term recovery. Crystal became a Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian to help people reconnect and heal their relationship with food and their bodies. She is the owner of a group practice called Horizon Nutrition Counseling, LLC in Nashville, TN. She believes all foods are good foods. Her client-focused approach is centered around establishing safety in the body, with food and within different environments and experiences. Crystal is a wife and mother of three young children. Her downtime is spent with her family and doing any and all child-focused activities they can find around town. She loves hiking, cooking, gardening, restoring their 1996 Ford Bronco with her husband, and dabbles in the in-door plant game.
