About This Course

This is a LIVE, VIRTUAL training that will take place on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 9:00 AM - 12:15 PM (CST).

The live training is limited to 40 participants.  The training will be recorded and participants who are unable to participate in the live training will be able to register for the Home Study course and view the recording of the training, complete the corresponding quiz, and receive 3 Non-Contact Hours Credit.

Family Engagement Through Play Therapy is a two-part course based on family systems theory and play therapy principles. Part one (1.5 hours) will focus on the utilization of digital detox methods. Part two (1.5 hours) will introduce an innovative play therapy and conflict resolution tool-The Magic MatTM. This interactive course will provide an in-depth play-based and creative intervention for assisting families who desire to improve their connection and communication.

 

Learning Objectives

  1. List the foundational principles of how play therapy and digital detox work together.
  2. Explain and implement digital detox, perturbing the family system.
  3. Identify strategies for addressing parental objections with play therapy principles.
  4. Demonstrate application of play therapy family engagement in the absence of digital distractions.
  5. Demonstrate healthy reintroduction practices of digital usage and identify strategies to maintain newly inspired play therapy based family interaction. 
  6. Effectively explain play-based family communication tool-The Magic Mat.

Stacy Jagger, LMFT, RPT-S

Stacy Jagger is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S), as well as an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. She is a mother of four, guest speaker, author, and mentor. She is the founder and clinical director of Music City Family Therapy – a unique counseling practice serving Greater Nashville specializing in integrating play and expressive arts therapies for children, individuals, and families through a systemic, whole family, approach through the Mountain Method™ – a proprietary experiential family therapy treatment intervention model. She is the author of A Letter From Emma and the 30 Day Blackout. Stacy is also the creator of the Music With Mommie program and a playful intervention product called Magic Mats.
