About This Course

This is a non-contact HOME STUDY training based on a live training that was recorded.

Internal family systems is an evidenced based model of psychotherapy that believes we all contain many different parts that protect an inner core self. By externalizing these parts through play we can learn to speak for them, process them and ask for our needs to be met from a more regulated place. This training will explore ways to use sand tray, art, puppets and other forms of play to help clients of all ages understand their parts, approach them with more compassion allowing clients to live and engage in relationships from their most authentic selves.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe a basic understanding of Internal Family Systems, including core self and parts language
  2. Describe 3 play therapy interventions for working with clients' parts to gain better understanding of self.
  3. Apply play therapy interventions for working with a client's anxious parts.
